Simplifying the digital experience for one of WA’s most complex businesses

Overview

Perdaman’s innovative strategies and solutions drive sustainable growth and transformation, which meet the evolving needs of communities and businesses globally.

Perdaman is a visionary family-owned multinational organisation, proudly rooted in Indian origins and headquartered in Western Australia. Operating across diverse sectors, including fertiliser production, pharmaceuticals, retail, investment management, recruitment, immigration, and sustainable energy solutions. Their focus is on delivering excellence and creating positive outcomes for communities. Through innovation and sustainability, they aim to build a better future, advancing industries and enhancing lives globally.

Challenge

Perdaman, a multi-billion dollar company, recognised the critical need for their digital presence to reflect their substantial market standing. Their primary challenge was to undergo a comprehensive branding exercise and website execution that visually communicated their scale and sophistication.

This was complicated by their “House of Brands” structure, comprising eight distinct brands (Chemicals & Fertilisers, Global Services, Commercial Property, Advanced Energy, Energy, Pharmaceuticals, Financial Services Singapore, Perdaman Capital, Sunrise International Labs, and Electrical Services).

Each brand needed to maintain its individual identity and stand on its own, while simultaneously contributing brand equity back to the master brand, Perdaman Services. They required a flexible and robust website structure that could accommodate this diverse portfolio, manage information across multiple sites, and allow for internal content management with varying user hierarchies.

Solution

Our approach centered on building a complex, multi-site framework designed to manage Perdaman’s intricate “House of Brands” structure. The core of this solution was a WordPress multi-site installation that allowed for seamless transition and management of information across all individual brand websites.

A critical requirement was the ability to update information, such as addresses, on the corporate website and have it automatically propagate across all subsidiary sites, ensuring consistency and reducing manual effort.

We developed a highly robust theme and framework featuring approximately 25 different design modules. These modules were designed to be interchangeable, providing significant flexibility for Perdaman’s internal teams to build new pages, introduce new services, and manage content without constant reliance on external development. We also implemented a sophisticated news and insights sharing functionality, allowing content to be shared across multiple sites with granular control over what was displayed where.

Furthermore, a user hierarchy system was established, granting master users at the corporate level oversight, while individual business units retained the ability to add, manage, and utilise their own users. This ensured both centralised control and decentralised flexibility.

Results

In early 2025, seven of Perdaman’s brand websites were successfully launched to the market. All websites utilised the same underlying structure and framework, with only the colour scheme tailored to each individual brand’s identity. This approach ensured brand consistency while allowing for distinct visual identities.

The development of the robust theme and 25 interchangeable design modules empowered Perdaman to manage their websites internally. This significantly reduced their reliance on ongoing development, allowing them to efficiently build new pages and services as needed.

The WordPress multi-site framework proved to be an effective solution for managing their complex “House of Brands, ” ensuring data consistency and streamlined content management across their diverse portfolio. The successful launch of these initial sites laid a strong foundation for Perdaman’s unified yet flexible digital presence, accurately reflecting their status as a leading global entity.
