Overview

Western Australia is delivering more than 80 major road, rail, coastal and cycling projects as part of the Building For Tomorrow Project.

A significant challenge for construction partners is ensuring the community are informed and building supportive for the projects amongst key stakeholders during the design, delivery and close out phases.

Across two years, Purple supported the delivery of three key network projects across WA: High Street Upgrade; Roe Highway and Kalamunda Road Upgrade; and Karel Avenue Upgrade

Challenge

Purple was engaged to ensure the timely and transparent communication with local stakeholders, including residents, businesses and local government during the phases of project delivery and close out. The challenge lay in balancing the need to deliver the project milestones with the construction fatigue experienced by the local stakeholders after years of project work.

The stakeholder list across the three large state infrastructure projects were extensive with individuals having various challenges, needs, communication preferences and construction tolerance.

Solution

Working closely with the client’s project team, We successfully delivered regular collateral, including project updates and newsletters throughout project milestones, maintained regular contact with key stakeholders and managed property condition close out claims for three large state infrastructure projects within the metropolitan region. Over 500 pre construction property conditions reports were undertaken across the projects and over 90% of property claim cases successfully negotiated and resolved. Purple supported all community engagement activities, including community enquiries, letter box drops, local government briefings, community reference group meetings and property inspections, which were captured in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. In addition we drafted collateral related to the three projects and their key milestones, including:

Results
